Leonardo Milanez Villela

Founding partner of Milanez Villela Advogados. Attorney with over 20 years of experience in Tax Law, focused on advising large companies and multinational corporations on highly complex matters.

He has an interdisciplinary background combining Law and Accounting, with strong technical expertise in IFRS and BR GAAP, enabling him to integrate legal analysis with the accounting and financial logic of business operations. His practice covers domestic and international taxation, foreign trade operations, cross-border capital flows, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, and payroll taxation, with additional experience in regulatory matters before BACEN, CVM, ANVISA, and MAPA.

Throughout his career, he has developed significant experience in sectors characterized by dense regulatory environments, such as the pharmaceutical, medical devices, software, and automotive industries, advising companies in these sectors on complex tax, corporate, and regulatory decisions.

He also advises on the structuring of legal governance in technology-driven environments, supporting clients in defining controls, assumptions, and safeguards applicable to automated processes and the corporate use of artificial intelligence.

His approach is grounded in a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry, and regional particularities, with direct and close involvement in the day-to-day handling of matters.

Prior to founding Milanez Villela Advogados, he worked at leading law firms in Brazil.

Prior to joining Milanez Villela Advogados, she worked at leading law firms such as Pinheiro Neto and Machado Meyer Advogados, and also held a legal position at Raízen Energia, gaining direct experience with the operational and decision-making dynamics of a large corporation.
